Install & sign in
Download the app, sign in with Google, and your inbox loads. Triage starts with the next email that arrives.
Requirements
- macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
- A Gmail or Google Workspace account.
Install
- Download the latest .dmg.
- Open it and drag Echelon Inbox to Applications.
- Open the app from Applications.
The app is signed and notarized by Apple. It checks for updates on launch and installs them for you, so you only download it once.
- Click Sign in with Google. Your browser opens.
- Pick your account and approve access. The app asks for Gmail, contacts (for address autocomplete), Drive (to attach files) and Calendar.
- Return to the app. Your inbox loads.
Google may warn that the app is unverified. That's expected for privately run servers. Click Advanced, then continue.
Sort the mail you already have
Triage runs on new mail as it arrives. To tag what's already in your inbox, press ⌘ K and run Triage inbox.
Then open Settings (⌘ ,) to choose how much the AI may do. See Triage & tags.
More than one account
Click your email address in the bottom-left corner and choose Add account…. Switch between accounts from the same menu or the command palette. Each account has its own settings, tags and AI providers.
Use a different server
If you run your own server, open the sign-in screen and choose Server → Change, then enter its URL. The app keeps a separate sign-in for each server in your Mac's Keychain.
